Description
A spacious family house in a popular Cotswold village
The Rectory sits in the heart of the village and comprises a spacious period house with well-proportioned accommodation and enormous character. The house is attached to Rectory Cottage on one side. On the ground floor are two reception rooms and a large kitchen/dining room. There are five double bedrooms in total, spread over the first and second floors. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. On the second floor is a large landing which was previously used as a playroom.
On the west side of the house is a west facing mainly walled garden. It has a good degree of privacy for a village house. A right of way to the rear leads to two garages with parking in front.
Rendcomb is a pretty Cotswold village with a shop/post office/cafe and a surgery. Overlooking the Churn valley, the village is also home to Rendcomb College, an independent day and boarding school. Cirencester is 6 miles to the south, offering an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. Cheltenham is the main regional centre. It has an extensive range of shopping and recreational facilities and also plays host throughout the year to a number of festivals including literature, classical and jazz as well as cricket and, of course, the Racing Festival. Other local towns are Gloucester, Bath, Bristol, and Oxford. Direct train services from Kemble to London Paddington which take from 68 minutes.
