Floorplans For Fishing on the Exe

Description

An excellent stretch of fishing on the River Barle, one of the West Country's finest salmon rivers within walking distance of Dulverton. Freehold.

Situation - The fishing rights are located just off the B3222 between Dulverton and Brushford on the north eastern bank of the River Barle on the southern edge of Exmoor National Park. Nearby Dulverton offers a variety of shops, together with a post office, chemist, doctors, veterinary and dental surgeries, library, primary school and recreational facilities.

Description - The River Barle rises on 'The Chains' on Exmoor. From there the river flows south and east to Simonsbath and Withypool collecting additional flow from other tributaries. From Withypool the river flows through to Dulverton again picking up further flow on the way. The river then passes through the fishing rights for sale in this brochure and then joins the River Exe at Exebridge.

Fishing Rights - These comprise an attractive and varied beat of approximately 195 metres of single bank fishing. The extent of the fishing is shown on the attached plan. The single bank beat extends for 195 metres on the north eastern bank of the River Barle straddling the well-known Beasley Salmon trap/Weir, just on the edge of Dulverton. Access is on foot from the end of Milham Lane across the fields running south, and also from Newbridge, Brushford

Quarry Species - The beat is principally a salmon and brown trout fishery with the occasional sea trout.

Bye Laws - The rod fishery is regulated by a series of byelaws, some longstanding, some more recently introduced and some time limited. A brief summary is as follows:
