The barn is lined with timber and benefits from views from three aspects. The windows are double glazed and it benefits from light, power and a telephone point with broadband connection. The gardens and grounds lie mainly to the rear of the property and comprise a wildlife garden with adjoining woodland accessed via numerous pathways. Within these grounds can be found various sheds and a pond.

Vendors Comments - The garden has been managed to provide a range of wildlife habitats with wildflower-rich grassy areas, orchard (apple, greengage quince), arboretum (with numerous deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs including gingko, yew, larch, lime, hornbeam, beech, chestnut, maple, broom, handkerchief tree) and an area of "ancient" woodland which has holly arbours and a dense carpet of bluebells that fill the air with their delicate scent in spring. At the same time spaces for eating and enjoying outdoor events have been created. Wildflowers include early purple and common spotted orchids, meadow-rue, bugle, cranesbills, ox-eye daisy, yellow archangel, snowdrop, wild garlic, navelwort, lily of the valley, Solomon's seal and abundant primroses. Areas are also filled with daffodil and other bulbs. Bats can always be seen on warm evenings and badgers live in large sets or the edges of the site. Roe deer and brown hare visit, along with the occasional red deer, stoat and hedgehog. A series of ponds contain breeding colonies of amphibians and dragonflies. Wild birds find the garden a haven with numerous nesting species including tawny owl, great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch, treecreeper, goldcrest, blackcap, coal tit and marsh tit as well as the more common garden species. Lesser spotted woodpecker, green woodpecker and raven also visit and woodcock and pied flycatcher have also occurred. The disused quarry adds a different dimension with a resident flock of jackdaws and a succession of nesting birds of prey with kestrel, barn owl, buzzard and peregrine, the latter species having successfully raised young most years in the last 20. The sights of aerial battles with buzzards and food passes between the falcons and their young are mesmerising. Two cabins allow the option for sleeping close to the wildlife and in amongst the trees. A caravan and outdoor kitchen area with mains water and composting toilet allow campers to enjoy life outside.
The history of the site is also fascinating with a publication available about the Tracebridge hamlet and former operation of the slate quarry. A range of industrial archaeological features occurs in and around the quarry.
